There is now serious concern for the future of these children who have over a 90% drop out rate. The looming issue is whether the new immigrants will ever be able to integrate successfully into Icelandic society without learning the language.

Óli is also a teacher, but at the Garðaskóli in Garðabæ.

The couple has been traveling all around the US interviewing teachers to discover methods of teaching Icelandic as a second language to the children of refugees and other new immigrants.
