AN AFTERNOON WITH ALDA SIGMUNDSDÓTTIR
Join us on Saturday July 9th from 2 pm - 4 pm, at the Annette Branch of the Toronto Public Library as we welcome Alda Sigmundsdóttir.
Alda Sigmundsdóttir is an Icelandic-born writer, journalist, translator and blogger. She grew up in Canada and Cyprus, and lived in the UK and Germany before returning to Iceland in 1994. Alda is the author of seven books about Iceland and has written extensively about Iceland for the international media, most notably as a columnist in The Guardian, one of the UK´s most notable newspapers. She is a regular commentator on Icelandic affairs for the BBC and CBC and Alda was also the correspondent for the Associated Press which means that her work appeared in thousands of media outlets throughout the world. In the wake of the Icelandic economic meltdown, Alda was one of the main speakers and commentators on the Icelandic situation, travelling extensively t give talks an being a regular contributor in the foreign media.
Join us as Alda launches her newest book, ´The Little Book of Icelandic´ in Canada. Those of you who have read her books know how delightful they are You won´t want to miss this chance to meet Alda as she discusses this newest book and her other successful books and talks about all things Iceland. It promises to be an exciting event.
